Three people were injured during a car accident in Outagamie County this weekend.
The Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office was called to the intersection of Center Valley Road and Rexford Road on Saturday (July 5th) just before noon on the report of a two-vehicle crash.
Upon arrival, deputies and emergency crews discovered three people within two vehicles had sustained injuries following a head-on collision.
Initial investigations by authorities show that a pickup truck turned north onto Rexford Road and was then struck head-on by another, southbound pickup.
As a result of the collision, an 84-year-old of Shiocton who was behind the wheel of the southbound pickup was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the northbound pickup, a 68-year-old Hortonville man, along with a 59-year-old passenger from Appleton, were also hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries.
An 11-year-old boy in the northbound vehicle was checked for injuries on the scene but released.
Authorities do not believe that alcohol played a factor in the crash that hospitalized three individuals.
