A defense company based in Northeastern Wisconsin has been contracted to build hundreds of tactical vehicles for the United States Army.
Oshkosh Defense has announced that they are partnering with the Army to build 225 trucks and 54 trailers through a contract valued at $167 million.
The production of these vehicles will support the National Guard Reserve, Program Executive Office Missiles & Space for the Indirect Fire Protection Capability system.
Many of the vehicles Oshkosh Defense has been contracted to build will be part of the development and fielding of advanced air defense systems.
This includes defending against counter threats such as cruise, hypersonic, and ballistic missiles.
Pat Williams, Chief Programs Officer at Oshkosh Defense, said, “Through our valued partnership with the U.S. Army, we are proud to support the critical role of the National Guard and Reserve forces and enable the integration of next-generation defense capabilities.”
The U.S. Army is continuing to follow through on its long-term modernization strategy, which Oshkosh Defense has and continues to play a pivotal role in through its heavy tactical vehicle portfolio.
