Due to a possible plastic contamination, some beef jerky products have been recalled across the country.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has announced the recall of original and jalapeño flavored Riverbend Ranch-branded beef jerky sticks.
The products subject to the recall include 6.9-ounce bags of both beef stick flavors bearing a best by date of 11/27/2026.
These products were sold online and distributed to retail locations nationwide, including Wisconsin.
The FSIS issued the recall after receiving multiple consumer reports stating they found transparent pieces of plastic inside the beef jerky sticks.
These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
At this time, no illnesses or injuries have been reported due to the plastic contamination; however, health officials are asking consumers not to consume the products.
Product labels for the Riverbend Ranch beef jerky sticks to be recalled can be found online at fsis.usda.gov.
