Manitowoc’s representative in the Assembly is touting a part of the recently approved state budget he helped make a reality.
Rep. Paul Tittl worked with Senator Jesse James of Thorp to help secure $100,000 in the 2025-2027 State Budget for farmer mental health assistance.
The duo noted that this money will go towards the creation and upkeep of a 24-hour helpline, online tele-counseling sessions, and in-person counseling vouchers for farmers and families.
The program also includes virtual education for ag service providers, peer support groups for farmers, and an agricultural mental health podcast.
This funding will raise awareness and resilience across the farming sector.
Tittl tells SeehaferNews.com, “Supporting farmers means supporting farmer mental health. Not many people understand the toll farming takes on mental health, this motion reaffirms the state’s commitment to stand with Wisconsin famers.”
