After months of back and forth, the 2025-2027 biennial budget has been approved.
Governor Tony Evers signed the budget at 1:30 a.m. after the Senate approved it on a 19-14 vote and the Assembly approved the $111 billion spending package 59-39.
Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu called it a “monumental win for the state of Wisconsin.”
The Oostburg Senator noted that the creation of a “competitive tax structure in Wisconsin is the most important economic development tool that we have.”
He closed his statement, noting that the budget will “accomplish what Senate Republicans have committed to do since January: fund core priorities and cut taxes without creating an unsustainable deficit.”
