A plea hearing for the woman who claims to worship the “Saint of Death” has been set as another competency hearing.
According to court records, Attorney Ann Larson, who’s representing 48-year-old Blanca Perez-Hernandez, requested that the plea hearing not go any further because she was concerned about the 48-year-old’s competency.
Judge Jerilyn Dietz agreed and decided to suspend the proceedings, ordering the defendant to undergo an inpatient competency evaluation.
The report will be due on July 16th. Perez-Hernandez will return to court on July 28th.
She was arrested in January after Manitowoc Police were called for multiple stabbings.
A criminal complaint states that Perez-Hernandez was previously taking license plates off cars before being confronted by the rightful owners.
She allegedly brandished a large kitchen knife and slashed one victim before trying to hurt another.
Perez-Hernandez said she did it because she worshiped the “Saint of Death” and he had gifted her, “all of the cars in the trailer park and all the cars in the world.”
The complaint also says her family attempted to get her treatment for a medical condition.
