A 75-year-old man is in police custody after allegedly threatening his wife with a shotgun at their Monroe home.
Police responded to a 9-1-1 call from the victim, who had locked herself in a bedroom. She was safely evacuated through a window by officers.
Nearby residents and a swimming pool were temporarily evacuated as a precaution.
Officers approached the home with a ballistic shield and convinced the man to surrender peacefully without the firearm.
He remains in custody and is being evaluated.
