Wisconsin’s Sixth District Congressman is thanking his constituents for participating in a telephone town hall over the weekend.
Republican Glenn Grothman says he talked about a lot of progress in the Budget, Education and Workforce, Judiciary, and Oversight Committees and shared updates on President Donald Trump’s “bold leadership.”
Grothman says a significant topic of discussion was the One Big Beautiful Bill, which has been at the forefront since passing the U.S. House of Representatives and moving into the U.S. Senate.
The Glenbeulah Republican says, “The bill is about preventing tax hikes, protecting programs like Medicaid for those who truly need them, and cracking down on fraud and abuse.”
Grothman says the bill strengthens Medicaid and does not cut it. Democrats, including Congressman Mark Pocan, say the bill will rip healthcare away from 13.7 million people on Medicaid, cut $500 billion from Medicare, and give tax breaks to billionaires.
As of Monday (June 30th), the bill has not yet passed in the U.S. Senate but did make it through the US House.
