Manitowoc’s 17u American Legion baseball team has extended its win streak.
Manitowoc took down Sheboygan’s 17u squad yesterday (June 30th), 8-6, in a comeback victory.
The game got off to a fast start for both sides as Sheboygan led Manitowoc 5-3 after two innings.
One more run in the top of the 4th inning for Sheboygan made their lead 6-3 before Manitowoc added 3 in the bottom half of the inning to tie the game at 6 runs apiece.
Two innings later, Manitowoc would strike again, taking an 8-6 lead thanks to singles off the bats of Jake Hillmer and Nolan Lettenberger.
Brady Kienbaum would then hold it down in the top of the 7th to secure the victory.
Kienbaum earned the win on the mound in relief, going one and two-thirds innings with no hits and one strikeout.
The 17u squad now sits at 11-2 on the year and will have a rematch, this time on the road, with Sheboygan tomorrow evening.
