Authorities in De Pere are warning of individuals posing as City inspectors.
The De Pere Police Department has received calls referencing two suspicious individuals trying to scam their way into residents’ homes in the area.
Police state that these individuals in question were males estimated to be in their 20s, carrying clipboards indicating that they were doing compliance checks on attics or other areas of the home due to recent changes in governmental regulations.
It has been confirmed that the City of De Pere is conducting no such inspections
At no time should you let such individuals into your home without checking the legitimacy of their claims with the De Pere Inspection Department.
Anyone who is approached by individuals posing as City inspectors is urged to contact the De Pere Police Department at 920-339-4078.
This is just the latest trend used by scammers, and while confirmed in De Pere, all Northeastern Wisconsin residents are encouraged to take notice of this kind of suspicious behavior.
