Leon D. Keune, age 71, a resident of Kenosha and formerly of Manitowoc, entered eternal life peacefully and unexpectedly at his residence on Friday, June 6, 2025.
Leon was born on September 1, 1953 in Manitowoc. He was the son of the late Ken and Arlene Brown Keune. Leon received his education in the Manitowoc Public Schools graduating from Lincoln High School with the class of 1971. He was a long time employee of Paragon Electric. Leon was a member of New Life Ev. Lutheran Church in Kenosha. He enjoyed bicycling and doing long distance rides. Leon also enjoyed model railroading, polka music and going to dances, reading, traveling to attend many drum and bugle corps competitions along with playing cards with family during the holidays.
He is survived by his sister, Karolyn Schultz of Manitowoc and her special friend Andy Eisner, one niece Melissa Schamburek and her three children, Jenna, Miley, and Brynn of Manitowoc, one nephew, Matt Strauss of Neenah, along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ken and Arlene Keune.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home with Rev. Ryan Henning officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Following the memorial service there will be a luncheon at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home.
