Authorities have identified the teenager who died in a motorcycle accident last week in Fond du Lac County.
WHBL reports that 18-year-old Sawyer Dirmeir of Campbellsport passed away last Tuesday (June 17th) after colliding with a pickup truck in the Town of Auburn.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was called to the intersection of County Highway V and Auburn-Ashford Drive and found the 18-year-old in the ditch, unresponsive. Life-saving measures were applied; however, Dirmeir was pronounced dead on the scene.
Initial investigations and questioning of the pickup driver, 32-year-old Daniel Ermer, also of Campbellsport, revealed that Dirmeir was traveling southbound on V before striking the truck that was going east on Auburn-Ashford Drive.
Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies say speed appears to have played a factor in the fatal crash, which is still under investigation.
