Now that summer is truly upon us, Wisconsin Public Services is reminding residents to enjoy the season safely.
Many people enjoy taking a dip or going fishing in lakes and rivers, but if you do, WPS encourages swimmers to avoid restricted zones, specifically around dams.
If your basement were to become flooded during a storm, residents are reminded to make sure the electricity is shut off to your home before entering the water, and to vacate the residence if you smell natural gas.
It is recommended that you then hire a qualified contractor to inspect wet or damaged electric or natural gas equipment and appliances to ensure they are safe to use.
