Manitowoc American Legion’s baseball teams are busy this weekend, with the 19-u squad continuing play in a tournament today in Marinette.
Post 88 will play Green Bay Southwest at 11 a.m. and is scheduled to play Gladstone, Michigan, at 4 p.m.
Manitowoc will conclude play on Sunday against an undetermined opponent at a time yet to be announced.
Manitowoc’s 16-u squad is scheduled to play Oshkosh in a doubleheader this afternoon. Game one begins at noon, with the nightcap scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m.
The 17U team has a twin bill scheduled for Sunday at home against Marinette. Start times are noon and 2:30 at Bruce Steinbecker Field.
In semipro football, the Manitowoc County Mariners conclude their 2025 season when they travel to Dane County to battle the Middleton Panthers at Sun Prairie West High School.
The Mariners are looking to end their season with a two-game winning streak after rallying from 21 points down to defeat the Central Wisconsin Wolves last Saturday at Ron Rubick Field, 36 to 29. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Sheboygan County SaberCats look to improve to 7 and 0 as they travel to Melrose Park, Illinois, to meet the 4 and 0 Illinois Cowboys in Midwest League action.
The SaberCats lead the North Division, while the Cowboys are one-half game behind the South Division-leading Midwest Renegades. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
There is no Shoreland League Baseball this weekend as both the Manitowoc Bandits and Two Rivers Polar Bears are off.
The Bandits return to action Monday night when they head to Ashwaubenon to play The Lookouts, while the Polar Bears are off until next Wednesday (July 2nd) when they host The Algoma ‘Guins at Walsh Field. Both games are scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
