It was a busy week for Eastern Wisconsin’s representative in Congress.
Rep. Glenn Grothman reintroduced a pair of bills, one of which aims to lower the costs of cancer treatments.
He was joined by fellow Republican Representatives Gus Bilirakis and Brian Fitzpatrick, and Democrat Representatives Suzanne Bonamici, Joe Morelle, and Doris Matsui to bring the Cancer Drug Parity Act back into the spotlight.
Rep. Grothman said of the bill, “Every American deserves access to effective cancer treatments available at the most affordable rate, without outdated health insurance plans standing in the way.”
Rep. Grothman also reintroduced the Enforce the Caps Act, which extends critical federal spending caps through Fiscal Year 2029.
This legislation builds on the bipartisan Fiscal Responsibility Act, which currently enforces spending caps only through FY 2025.
The Glenbeulah native notes that “Americans are fed up with the reckless spending in Washington that continues to fuel our growing debt crisis. Congress already reached a bipartisan agreement on commonsense spending caps through FY25, and this legislation simply extends those enforcement tools through FY29, adding essential guardrails to protect taxpayers from runaway deficits.”
