It was a big week for an Eastern Wisconsin Senator, as four of his bills made progress through the legislature.
Senator Andre Jacque tells SeehaferNews.com that, among the bills that passed in the Assembly, was Assembly Bill 65.
This measure looks to allow local safety officials to be better able to fight violent crimes, such as domestic abuse and gang violence.
Also headed to the Senate is Assembly Bill 187, which aims to support volunteer firefighters by reimbursing their education and training expenses.
Sen. Jacque’s Clarifying Child Relocation Standards bill also progressed.
He noted that the goal of that bill is to “ease pressure on family courts, and avoid unnecessary confusion and contention.”
Lastly, Sen. Jacque is looking to support third-party candidates with Assembly Bill 149, which is also headed to the Senate.
Sen. Jacque said of the measure, “It’s important to codify candidate qualifications in our statutes to leave no room for future dubious legal interpretations.”
