Two juveniles are in custody after joyriding a stolen vehicle in Green Bay.
The Green Bay Police Department was called yesterday (June 26th) just before 8:00 a.m. on a report of a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Thomas and Lark Streets.
When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered an SUV that had been reported stolen earlier in the day.
Initial investigations showed that the stolen SUV crashed into a parked SUV before crashing into a residence in the 1200 block of Thomas Street, causing significant damage to the home.
Witnesses told authorities that they had seen the stolen SUV traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the crash and that two younger individuals were seen fleeing the scene on foot.
In under 30 minutes, officers located a 15-year-old male with an active warrant out for his arrest who was believed to be the driver of the stolen SUV, while a 14-year-old male, who was believed to be the passenger, was also located.
Both teens were arrested and transported to the Brown County Juvenile Detention Center after being treated for non-life-threatening injuries related to the crash, however, no one inside the home was injured.
