A celebration of the creation of the Ice Cream Sundae.
Sundae Thursday gets underway today in Two Rivers from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Central Park West.
There will be 25-cent ice cream sundaes available, children’s games, an ice cream eating contest, and music from the Manitowoc Marine Band.
Two Rivers claims to be the home of the ice cream sundae, following the story of Ed Berner, who reportedly put chocolate syrup on ice cream at his soda fountain in the 1800s, now located inside the Washington House.
Utica, New York, also claims to be the birthplace of the sweet treat.
