
Charges have been filed against the man accused of trying to kill a woman with an axe in Fond du Lac.
Court records show that 34-year-old Hayden L. Daffinson of Ripon made his initial appearance in court yesterday (June 25th) after being apprehended in Germantown on Sunday (June 22nd).
Daffinson has been charged with First-Degree Attempted Homicide, First-Degree Sexual Assault, two counts of Mayhem, First-Degree Reckless Injury, Aggravated Battery, Intimidating a Victim by the Use of Force, and False Imprisonment.
Each of the eight felony charges he faces carries Use of a Dangerous Weapon and Domestic Abuse modifiers.
The 34-year-old has been accused of attacking a woman with an axe on Sunday.
The victim, an unnamed 38-year-old female, called police after the attack, stating that she was actively bleeding and that her attacker had fled the scene.
Arriving emergency personnel found her with lacerations to her head, back, and limbs and performed life-saving measures before she was eventually flown to a hospital in Neenah for extensive surgery.
As of Tuesday (June 24th), the 38-year-old woman was said to have made it out of surgery and was listed in stable condition.
Aggressive investigative efforts by law enforcement tracked Daffinson to Germantown, where he would be arrested after a brief police pursuit.
His bond has been set at $5 million cash, and he is due back in court in Fond du Lac County on July 31st.
