An Oshkosh man will be going to prison after a fatal stabbing last year.
Court records show that 24-year-old Sybastian Crossman was back in Winnebago County court yesterday (June 24th) for his sentencing hearing.
Crossman was originally charged with First-Degree Reckless Homicide; however, a plea deal was reached, which saw him convicted of a lesser charge of Homicide by Negligent Handling of a Dangerous Weapon.
At yesterday’s hearing, Judge Daniel Bissett sentenced the 24-year-old to spend six years in prison followed by five years of extended supervision.
Crossman was arrested in August of last year after an argument outside of an Oshkosh business ended in an unidentified 20-year-old being stabbed.
The victim would be transported to a local hospital, but they were later pronounced dead.
