
Postseason honors are pouring in for the Division Four state softball champion, Mishicot Indians.
Kiran Sanford of The Mishicot Indians has been named the Wisconsin Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association Division Four Player of the Year.
The fire-balling left-hander had one of the most memorable seasons in state softball history in leading the Indians to the Division Four state title earlier this month.
She won 27 games this season, pitching a total of 179 innings. Sanford allowed 58 hits, 12 total runs with only five earned, translating to an earned average of .200.
She walked 18 while striking out 356.
Teammates joining Sanford on the District Four Small Schools All District Team are shortstop Kaelin Adair, catcher Kasey Brouchoud, and third baseman Karsyn Krause.
Madison Teunissen of Howards Grove received Honorable Mention recognition.
District Four Medium Schools All District honors go to catcher Makayla Dallas of Valders and Amaya Brooks of Brillion.
Honorable mention recognition goes to Valders pitcher Megan Hochkammer, Jana O’Connell of Brillion, and Gwendolyn Sell of Chilton.
Todd O’Brien of Division Two state champion Denmark was named WFSCA Coach of the Year.
