One person was injured following a car versus mobility scooter accident late Wednesday morning in Manitowoc.
Police responded just before 11 a.m. to the incident that occurred at the intersection of Custer and South 31st streets.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the scooter operator was traveling southbound on the sidewalk on South 31st Street and entered the crosswalk on Custer Street.
A vehicle travelling eastbound on Custer struck the scooter, causing an unspecified injury.
The scooter’s operator was transported to a medical facility for treatment. The vehicle’s operator remained on scene, and the identities of those involved are not being released at this time.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area while the State Patrol conducts an accident reconstruction.
