The Manitowoc County Highway Department continues to work on preventing roads from buckling before it can happen.
Multiple news outlets have previously reported that some roads in Wisconsin have buckled, meaning it has deformed to cause a bump or large crack that can damage cars when driven over them.
It usually occurs during extremely warm days, such as this past weekend.
Highway Department Director Greg Grotegut tells Seehafernews.com that there have been no major buckles on Manitowoc County roads, but the department has been working on I-43 to grind portions of roads that could lead to one.
He also stated that there were no significant reports from over the weekend.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation emphasizes the importance of slowing down, buckling up, and maintaining full attention while driving to help avoid a buckled road.
They also say it’s essential to watch for slowing traffic and roadside workers.
