American Legion Post 477 is praising the community for its support in a major donation.
The St. Nazianz-based Legion Post presented a check for $70,982 to Old Glory Honor Flight during its annual Tractor Days celebration at Shadows Bar in School Hill.
The post had set a “lofty” goal of raising $50,000, but significantly surpassed that goal.
Manitowoc County Commander and the Post Adjutant, Nancy Schnell-Rivera, said the donation is “Bigger than American Legion Post 477! Bigger than Tee It Up Fore Troops! Bigger than the Village of St Nazianz or even Manitowoc County!! This check represents a Community, OUR Community, YOUR Community!… Words are not enough.”
