As the summer temperatures begin to become more frequent, the Two Rivers Police Department is reminding residents of a key warm-weather safety tip.
K9 Daisy and the rest of the Department are reminding everyone to make sure they never lock their children or their pets in a car, especially during a hot day.
Despite the popular rumor, it was noted “Cracking a window open DOES NOT protect your child or pet, and air conditioning can fail.”
The Department also noted, “Interior heat in a vehicle can increase over 15 degrees or more every 9 minutes. This can lead to deadly temperatures.”
If you see a child or pet locked in a car on a hot day, you are encouraged to call 911.
