City officials in Sheboygan will again be discussing the future of Evergreen Park.
The City’s Public Works Committee will meet today (June 23rd) within Council Chambers in City Hall at 6:00 p.m.
The big item on the agenda today will be a revised Evergreen Park Trail Improvement Proposal submitted by Sheboygan County Cycling (SCC).
After holding numerous info sessions and receiving input from the public, SCC has made changes to its original design and concept for the park located on Sheboygan’s north side.
One of the major changes made in this revised plan includes the removal of 18,000 square feet of concrete that was originally set for a mountain bike pump track.
This was one of the items in the original plan that received extensive pushback.
Regarding the revised plan, Joe Kerlin, Sheboygan Parks Manager, said, “A vote to recommend the approval of the Trail Improvement Proposal is a vote to improve the trails for all users. SCC is the only registered friends of Evergreen Park, and they are the only group working to improve the trails in the park.”
At today’s meeting, the public will be given time to speak on the matter and those interested in voicing their opinion can find more information by viewing the Public Works Committee agenda.
