Emplify Health is encouraging men to prioritize their health during Men’s Health Awareness Month.
While the local hospital group does want everyone to receive regular health check-ups for long and healthy lives, men may be less likely than their female counterparts to seek routine care.
Dr. Matthew Andreoli, Emplify Health by Bellin Family Medicine Physician noted, “There is a ‘push through the pain’ mentality that can lead to delayed visits or to only utilize Urgent Cares or Emergency Departments over scheduled visits with a primary care provider.”
Frequent visits to Urgent Care or the Emergency Department can end up being very costly.
When patients establish a primary care provider (PCP) and keep regular appointments, they can save money while taking a proactive approach to their health.
Men are encouraged to prioritize their health and establish and keep a primary care provider for a healthier future.
