For the third month in a row, the price for a home in Manitowoc County went up.
As reported by the Wisconsin Realtors Association, the median price of a home sold in the County in May was $222,250, which is $12,750 higher than in April, and $7,250 more than in May of last year.
In fact, the average home price locally has risen over $30,000 since February. However, the number of homes sold nearly doubled April’s rate, with 102 homes transferring ownership last month.
This does follow the 2024 trend, which also saw a spike in sales through May.
At the state level, the median price has steadily risen for the past four months, now coming in at $330,000, which s $8,000 more than in April, and $14,500 more than last May.
Also, 6,607 homes were sold throughout Wisconsin last month, which is over 1,500 more than in April.
Chris DeVincentis, the Chair of the WRA Board of Directors, noted, “As we move into the peak period for sales, it’s good to see a solid improvement in inventory levels over the last 12 months. More housing inventory will help moderate price appreciation and will lead to more buying opportunities.”
