
Manitowoc American Legion Post 88 19u lost their first game of the season, falling to the Beloit Senior Bandits 2 to 1 at the Baraboo Tournament Friday afternoon.
Post 88 got on the board in the bottom of the second inning on a run-scoring single by Gabe Eichmann.
Beloit would take the lead in the top of the sixth inning on a run-scoring single and a wild pitch.
That would be all the scoring in the game despite Post 88 outhitting The Bandits 7 to 3.
Kiel’s Aaron Stephany led Manitowoc with three hits, and Kameron Braun of Manitowoc Lincoln added two hits.
Ethan Haton was the winning pitcher for Beloit, allowing one run on seven hits, walking none, and striking out nine.
Cade Voelker took the loss for Post 88. The Kiel native went seven innings, giving up two runs on three hits, walking two, and striking out 8.
Manitowoc returns to action Saturday morning as they play Viroqua at 10 a.m.
