Manitowoc scored 12 runs on just four hits in the bottom of the sixth inning to rally and defeat Mishicot 15-11 in an American Legion 16U baseball game played on Friday night.
Mishicot led 6 to 3 going into the bottom of the sixth before Manitowoc put together their big 12-run rally to go up by nine.
Mishicot wouldn’t go away by scoring five in the top of the seventh, with their comeback falling short.
Josh Valleskey of Manitowoc Lincoln led a balanced offensive attack for Manitowoc with two hits and two runs batted in.
Lincoln’s Brayden Mrotek and Eugene Rauen each knocked in two runs, and Ethan Reimer of Roncalli drew three of Manitowoc’s nine walks.
Bennet Steeber had two hits, Cam Fick and Nolan Sand each collected two hits and two runs batted in, and Daryn Smith also knocked in a pair while walking twice and stealing two bases for Mishicot.
Manitowoc improved to 2-2 with the victory, and they return to action Saturday (today) at noon against Neenah.
