Two committees continue to work with the Manitowoc Public School District officials on the future of district buildings.
According to the district’s Facebook page, the MPSD Community Facilities Advisory Committee, with help from Cadence Consulting, continues to work with envisioning the most efficient district footprint, operationally and educationally, ideally with elementary schools that have three sections of each grade.
The committee will help shape a vision for MPSD’s future educational programming and learning environments amid declining enrollment, aging buildings, and budget challenges under state revenue limits.
The MPSD Staff Facilities Advisory Committee is meeting and going through the same analysis and exercise.
They met back on June 11th.
The groups have been meeting since February to provide recommendations on a long-term master district facilities plan that addresses current and future needs and increases operational efficiency.
The committees were created to help bring the community into the district.
They will continue to meet until fall.
