Amateur and professional disc golf players are enjoying what Silver Creek Park has to offer for the US Women’s Disc Golf Championship.
Day one of the tournament kicked off at 7:30 a.m. yesterday morning with the Women’s Pros disc golfers teeing off at Rollin Ridge in Reedsville while the women’s amateurs played at Silver Creek Park.
Barrett White, who was leading the Female Women’s Pro 55+ Division yesterday, tells SeehaferNews.com that she has enjoyed the courses so far.
“The local team has done such a good job getting them into shape,” she exclaimed. “I’ve never seen them look better. And I’ve been playing up here since Manitowoc in the Park since 2003.”
White’s favorite part of the game is the friends she’s made.
“It’s fun to throw frisbees and it’s fun to see great shots no matter who makes them,” she described. “But some of the best friends I’ve ever had are because of this sport.”
Most recently, she won the 2025 Latitude 64 Spring Fling Women’s Open in Reedsville back in May.
Many local and area players are also teeing off this weekend. Terri Reinl-Carver of Sheboygan is competing in the Women’s Pro 60+ division.
She says she started playing after the Vollrath Park Disc Golf Course was built.
“Bratwurst City Frisbee in 1979 and that was my first tournament, the Pickel Open, and I just started playing since then,” she revealed.
Some golfers are coming out of state, and it forces them to adjust their game, like Margaret Patterson from Colorado.
She says the elevation changes how she has to play.
“I have to kind of get reacquainted with my own discs and how they’re going to fly here, which is a big challenge,” Peterson said. “So, I was definitely working that out on the first few holes.”
The 2025 US Women’s Disc Golf Championship continues through Sunday at both Manitowoc County disc golf courses.
