Many schools in Northeastern Wisconsin have been honored by the state’s Department of Public Instruction (DPI).
Earlier this month, the DPI recognized 98 schools across the state as Wisconsin Schools of Recognition for the 2023–24 school year.
According to the DPI, the Schools of Recognition Program “recognizes Title One schools for making significant strides in student growth and achievement.”
The program’s High Impact Schools category included Franklin Elementary of the Manitowoc Public School District and Butte des Morts Elementary School in Menasha.
Chilton Elementary was honored in the High Progress Schools category, while Plymouth’s Fairview Elementary received honors in the area of High Achieving Schools.
Six schools from across the state were included as High Achieving and High Progress Schools, the program’s highest distinction. Amongst those schools to receive top honors was Oostburg Middle School.
When discussing the schools to make the list, State Superintendent Dr. Jill Underly said, “Their success is proof that when communities come together to support students, remarkable things happen. I am thrilled to recognize their hard work and continued commitment to student success.”
