A man is facing charges after threatening to shoot someone at a Manitowoc park and ride.
A Manitowoc Police Officer spoke with two individuals on Thursday (June 19th) who had been sent concerning messages from a 20-year-old man.
The duo showed the officer Snapchat messages from the suspect, which stated “I grabbed my gun for a reason,” and referenced a phone call where the man said, “You should probably leave before I shoot up the place,” referring to the Perkins’ Park and Ride.
The suspect then allegedly showed a gun to one of the witnesses.
The suspect also allegedly told them that he was going to shoot three people, who were informed of the threats.
A few hours after the conversation, the suspect was located, driving in the area of South 10th and Flambeau Streets, and numerous officers, including K9 Rolo, were called to conduct a high-risk traffic stop.
The suspect was apprehended without incident. He claimed the gun was a BB gun, and that he did not have access to a real gun, despite telling the witness that the gun was not a BB gun.
A BB gun that looked “almost identical to a Glock handgun” was found in the vehicle, and the man was taken to the Manitowoc County Jail on a charge of making Terrorist Threats.
