
The 2025 PDGA United States Women’s Disc Golf Championships has two Finnish golfers atop the pro leader board after one day of play.
The tournament leader after the first round is Eveliina Salonen at 8 under par, while Henna Blomroos comes in at 7 under, both of Finland.
American golfers Ohn Scoggins and Hailey King, along with Lykke (LEK-ee) Lorentzen of Norway and Canadian Sofia Donnecke, will begin day two of the tournament in a four-way tie for 3rd with a score of -5.
Local pro Lindsay Fish of Two Rivers ended her round yesterday in a tie for 51st place after tossing a score of +7 while Green Bay’s Emily Roskom shot 10 strokes over par putting her in a tie for 64th place.
In the Amateur 1 division, Rayne Winans of Kaukauna is tied for 28th, and Appleton’s Jordan Krizek comes in after round one in 40th place.
Sierra Maatta, also an Appleton resident, had a very good day in the Amateur 2 division and begins the second round in a tie for 2nd place with a score of +2.
Two area golfers are also competing in the Women’s Amateur 60+ division, Becci Aschenbach of Sheboygan and Liz Phillippi of Kaukauna with Aschenbach in 9th and Phillippi in sole possession of the 4th place spot.
Play continues today with the pros heading back to Rollin Ridge before heading to Silver Creek Park for days three and four of the tournament.
