A dominant performance from Manitowoc’s American Legion 19u baseball team has extended their undefeated streak.
Manitowoc was on the road yesterday and took down the Ashwaubenon A’s 14-2 to improve to 4-0 on the season.
Despite Ashwaubenon getting on the board first in the bottom of the 2nd inning, Manitowoc answered back and took the lead in the 4th inning on a passed ball before Sawyer Van Drisse hit a sacrifice and Gabe Eichmann singled to each plate a base runner.
Manitowoc would follow it up with 10 runs in the 5th inning thanks to some good discipline at the plate, solid base running, and finding gaps in the infield.
Kam Braun led the offensive charge for Manititowoc, collecting three hits on the day while Aaron Stephany and Landon Chalupny would draw three walks apiece.
In the game that was decided in just five innings, Eichmann would earn the win on the bump, pitching a scoreless and hitless three innings with four strikeouts.
It will be a busy weekend for the 19u squad as they will be in Baraboo for a tournament, playing 4 games in 3 days.
The first matchup will be at 5:00 p.m. tomorrow against the Beloit Bandits.
