Two organizations in Sheboygan are teaming up to help save individuals experiencing an overdose.
Rogers Behavioral Health and Lighthouse Recovery Community Center – Sheboygan will be hosting a Naloxone or Narcan training event on Monday (June 23rd).
The event will be split into two sessions, with the first running from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and the second taking place from 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Each session will be held at Rogers Behavioral Health’s Sheboygan location.
The event will be free to attend and offer participants the chance to learn how to administer Narcan in the event of someone overdosing.
Following the introduction of the first-ever Narcan vending machine in Manitowoc County, Alex Hunt, The Haven Manitowoc County’s Executive Director, spoke to SeehaferNews.com about what Narcan can do.
He said, “Narcan has zero negative side effects. There is no harmful purpose for Narcan. And it serves no purpose but to reverse an overdose.”
Those interested in learning how to use Narcan are encouraged to attend the event next week, which could be the difference when in a life-or-death situation.
