The Kewaunee High School baseball team will be playing for a state title today, but it will not be easy.
The Storm punched their ticket to Fox Cities Stadium in Grand Chute by rolling through the Regional round of the tournament, before upsetting a pair of #1 seeds.
Then edged out Chilton 1-0 in the Sectional Semifinals and again snuck by Wittenberg-Birnamwood 6-5 to claim the sectional title.
In the state semifinals, Kewaunee again knocked off a higher seed, knocking off #3 Fennimore 5-2.
Their opponent in the Division 3 State Championship game is #1 seeded Kenosha St. Joseph Catholic, who outscored their opponents 20-8 through the play-in tournament, and dominated Barron in the state semifinals 14-4.
The Storm have been underdogs for their last three games, and if they want to earn the gold ball, they will have to do it once again.
The game will begin at noon on Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium in Grand Chute.
