Governor Tony Evers has approved nearly $2 million in grant funding.
This funding is to help Green Bay and the surrounding areas recover public safety expenses from hosting the NFL Draft earlier this year.
The money will go to Green Bay, Brown County, and the village of Ashwaubenon to cover costs associated with event security.
The three-day draft drew approximately 600,000 attendees.
The grant follows a decision by state lawmakers last week to reject a proposal that would have reimbursed the city for those expenses.
