Some chicken fettuccine Alfredo products have been recalled nationwide.
The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service has announced that FreshRealm, out of California and Indiana, has issued the recall due to a possible Listeria contamination.
The products subject to the recall are Marketside-branded 32.8-ounce and 12.3-ounce packages of grilled chicken alfredo with fettuccine, along with 12.5-ounce packages of Home Chef-branded heat & eat chicken fettuccine alfredo with pasta, grilled white meat chicken, and parmesan cheese.
These products were shipped nationwide to Walmart retail locations as well as Kroger locations, which include Pick’n Save, Metro Market, and various other grocery chains.
The recall has been linked to a Listeria outbreak that currently includes 17 sick individuals in 13 states.
As of Tuesday (July 17th), three deaths have been reported, and one fetal loss is directly linked to this outbreak.
Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them but rather to throw them out or return them to the place of purchase.
Product labels on the affected products can be found online at fsis.usda.gov.
