A Manitowoc Police Officer was forced to pull his service weapon during a drug arrest.
A Manitowoc police officer was on patrol in the 1600 block of Washington Street just after 11:00 Tuesday evening (June 17th), when they spotted a vehicle known to be involved with illegal narcotics activity.
The officer began to follow the vehicle onto South 17th Street, where the vehicle had parked.
The officer maintained a visual on the vehicle and followed as it left the area at a speed above the posted speed limit.
A traffic stop was conducted in the area of Spring Street and Revere Drive, where the female driver showed signs of being anxious.
She claimed she was taking the two passengers to a residence.
Backup arrived as the officer asked the driver to step out of the vehicle, and she denied a request to search the vehicle.
One of the suspects fled on foot, but was caught a short distance later after an officer pulled their service weapon and pointed it at the man.
K9 Rolo was then deployed, conducting a sniff of the vehicle, which came back with a positive hit.
Numerous items of drug paraphernalia along with psychedelic mushrooms, marijuana, some pills, and Methamphetamine were uncovered, leading to the arrest of the 43-year-old woman on charges of Possession of Meth, THC, Schedule 1 or 2 Narcotic, a Non Schedule Drug, and Drug Paraphernalia.
The 46-year-old man was also arrested on charges of Resisting an Officer, Possession of a Schedule 1 or 2 Narcotic and Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Psilocybin with Intent to Deliver.
