The Kewaunee Storm will be playing for a WIAA Division 3 State Baseball Championship.
The local squad took down Fennimore at Fox Cities Stadium yesterday, 5-3, taking advantage of some key errors and walks by the Golden Eagles.
The game was tied at zero entering the 4th inning, when Ethan Paplham got on base with a single and Brett Paulsen reached base on a fielding error.
Brady Pribek stepped to the plate and pounded a triple to right center field, getting the Storm on the board with a pair.
Fennimore would strike back in the bottom half of the inning with a run, but in the 5th, all the bounces went Kewaunee’s way.
Two batters in a row were walked, and back-to-back errors and a single by Paulsen led to three runs scoring in the inning.
The Eagles did tally two more, but Waylon Delain took the mound for Kewaunee in the final two frames and didn’t allow a single base runner, striking out a pair.
The Storm will now face Kenosha St. Joseph in the finale tomorrow afternoon.
The game is slated to begin at noon at Fox Cities Stadium in Grand Chute.
