The City of Manitowoc is looking to redevelop the Manitowoc Senior Center.
The Common Council approved a Request for Proposal on Monday (June 16th) to seek a group to develop a Long-Range Master Plan.
The goal of the project is to conduct an in-depth review of all current recreation programming and facility usage and provide a comprehensive plan focused on activating and optimizing future programming opportunities and facility needs at the Senior Center.
The city will gather public input, assess existing maintenance needs, and develop a shared vision for the future facility and programming.
Manitowoc’s Committee on Aging is considering examining short-term and long-term building maintenance, security and automation, room layout, and strategies for increasing volunteer participation.
The estimated budget for updating the senior center is $25,000 to $35,000.
A start date for the project has not been announced.
