The Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty, or WILL, is filing a lawsuit against the Trump Administration.
The lawsuit claims that some programs the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has implemented are denying financial assistance to farmers based on race and sex.
Their client is Adam Faust, a white farmer from Calumet County.
According to WILL, the lawsuit follows a warning to the Trump Administration in April that the USDA was continuing to use Biden-era DEI policies and that Wisconsin Republican Congressmen had called for an end to the discriminatory policies.
The group continues saying Faust is one of the 2 million white male American farmers who are still subject to discriminatory race-based policies implemented by the Biden administration’s USDA.
Deputy Legal Counsel Dan Lennington says, “We warned USDA and the Trump Administration: the Biden-era discriminatory programs must go. While President Trump has been clear that racial discrimination has no place in his Administration, USDA remains a notable holdout.”
Faust sued the Biden Administration for race discrimination in 2021 and became the first farmer to successfully win to be a part of the Farmer Loan Forgiveness Plan.
