Fire departments from across Sheboygan County responded to a commercial fire in Plymouth over the weekend.
The Plymouth Fire Department responded to Millennium Technologies after calls were received reporting smoke coming from the structure.
Upon arrival, fire crews confirmed an active fire and quickly initiated interior and roof operations.
A MABAS alarm was initiated due to the building’s size and the condition of the fire, bringing in numerous fire departments from neighboring communities.
With reports of chemicals stored in the building, firefighters secured all hazardous materials without incident.
However, a MAYDAY was declared after a partial ceiling collapse briefly trapped two firefighters, but they were quickly located and assisted out.
The Sheboygan County Fire Investigation Team and County Sheriff’s Drone Team were also on scene to determine the fire’s cause.
While currently deemed undetermined, it is believed that an electrical issue within Millennium Technologies is to blame for the blaze.
The two trapped firefighters were evaluated on scene, but no serious injuries were reported, and the loss amount is not available at this time.
Responding Fire Departments included Cascade, Cedar Grove, City of Sheboygan Falls, Town of Sheboygan Falls, Elkhart Lake, Glenbeulah, Greenbush, Howards Grove, Kiel, Kohler, New Holstein, Silver Creek, and Waldo, along with Plymouth Utilities and Orange Cross Ambulance.
