A Two Rivers native will become the next chairman of the Wisconsin Democratic Party.
An announcement from the Dems says that Devin Remiker was selected during their annual conference in Wisconsin Dells.
He’ll be taking over for Ben Wikler, who decided not to run again.
In a statement Wikler said, “The delegates to our state convention have chosen a leader, an innovator, a brilliant strategist, and a Democrat who understands to his core that we are strongest as a party when we join together, from every corner of the state, to fight for a future that lifts up working families.”
Remiker says he is honored to have earned the trust of delegates to build on what Wikler has done.
He continues saying, “We will take back this state by showing the Democratic Party is fighting for the working class, protecting fundamental rights and freedoms, and defending our democracy.”
Remiker served as the party’s executive director previously, and will officially take over on July 1st after Wikler’s term ends at the end of the month.
