The Senate Majority Leader is giving some positive updates on the crafting of the 2025-2027 Biennial State Budget.
Oostburg native, Devin LeMahieu, tells SeehaferNews.com that the Joint Finance Committee has been hard at work crafting a budget that everyone is happy with.
With 2025 being Governor Tony Evers’ “Year of the Kid,” the JFC has added spending in some child-focused areas.
“On Thursday, JFC invested in K-12 schools by providing additional state resources for special education and provided targeted tax relief for the middle class and retirees,” he revealed. “They also increased funding for the state’s technical colleges.”
Earlier in the week, the committee addressed some workforce issues.
“On Tuesday, JFC invested in Wisconsin’s workforce by increasing available funding for the Youth Apprenticeship Grant Program, the Fast Forward Workforce Training Program and the early college credit program,” Sen. LeMahieu noted.
Sen. LeMahieu assured his constituents that “the legislature’s actions so far will keep more money in your pocket for everyday necessities, while investing in core properties like schools and workforce development.”
