The Manitowoc Public School District has approved its strategic vision plan.
The plan focuses on seven categories, including student achievement, district leadership, school culture, communication, fiscal responsibility, attracting and recruiting, and operations and infrastructure.
Superintendent Lee Thennes says the visions, or “big rocks”, are goals that are needed, and will be worked on by administrative staff before they are sent to committees to be approved.
The plans will then be sent to the full board after being worked on in June, July, and August.
Some of the visions the school district is focusing on are strengthening partnerships with parents, businesses, and local organizations, aligning their budget and spending with district priorities, and planning for enrollment changes and facility needs.
The MPSD board held a special meeting to discuss changes which included switching some words.
More information can be found on the June 10th agenda at meetings.boardbook.org, and look under the MPSD Strategic Visioning Plan.
