Oshkosh Defense has gotten a new contract with the U.S. Army.
The three-year deal allows the Army to continue ordering the FMTV A2, a medium tactical vehicle as part of the Army Transformation Initiative and Forge Design 2030.
Three of the vehicles also include a Low Velocity Air Drop variant so they can be parachuted down to provide food, ammunition, and other equipment.
Oshkosh Defense Chief Programs Officer Pat Williams says the FMTV A2 fills a critical capability gap for the Airborne community by replacing an aging fleet with upgraded capability that can be rapidly deployed in contested environments.
The award also provides production to continue into 2030 while preserving a U.S.–based supply chain that began in 2009.
