The former leader of the Manitowoc County Drug Unit is scheduled to plead in his case today (June 12th).
Dave Remiker will return to a Manitowoc County courtroom this afternoon for a plea and sentencing hearing.
Remiker faces a charge of misconduct in office after an internal audit conducted in February found that several thousand dollars of asset forfeiture funds were not properly deposited into designated accounts.
The 51-year-old originally entered a plea of not guilty in December last year.
During an April hearing, defense attorneys told Waushara County Judge Guy Dutcher that they’d reviewed the evidence and were waiting on a final restitution figure.
Dutcher is presiding over the case to avoid conflict with Manitowoc County judges.
Remiker retired from the Metro Drug Unit in January last year.
